In the mid 1970s, NEI's founders had a vision: to create a pattern and mold shop based on the highest possible level of quality at the lowest possible cost, with on-time delivery, using state of the art equipment. In 1979, their vision became reality with the founding of Nielsen Enterprises. Today Nielsen Enterprises is a manufacturing company, providing patterns, molds, laser scanning, premier machining, and prototype manufacturing.
With the advent of CNC technology, Nielsen Enterprises purchased its first CNC mill, becoming one of the first pattern and mold shops in the world to take advantage of this breakthrough technology. With the purchase of their first CNC mill, Nielsen Enterprises established themselves on the leading edge of technology, becoming one of the first manufacturing facilities capable of digitizing. Today we use Surfcam's industry leading TRUEMill® technology for our high speed machining needs.
In 1988, after searching for software capable of programming complex 3D surfaces, Nielsen Enterprises discovered SURFCAM®, a CAD/CAM system. They immediately became the first SURFCAM® dealer, receiving numerous SURFCAM® awards, including the prestigious Dealer of the year award. Thirty one (31) years later, Nielsen Enterprises continues to utilize and sell SURFCAM®, a cutting edge worldwide premier CAD/CAM system.
