In the mid 1970's NEI's founders had a vision. To create a pattern and mold shop based on the highest level of quality possible at the lowest possible cost with on-time delivery using state of the art equipment. In 1979 their vision became reality when Nielsen Enterprises was founded. Today, Nielsen Enterprises is a manufacturing service provider, providing premier patterns, molds, impellers, and prototype manufacturing.
At the advent of CNC technology, Nielsen Enterprises purchased its first CNC mill, becoming one of the first pattern and mold shops in the world to take advantage of this hot new technology. With the purchase of their first CNC mill, Nielsen Enterprises established themselves on the leading edge of technology and became one of the first manufacturing facilities capable of digitizing and CNC milling.
In 1988 after Nielsen Enterprises purchased their new CNC mill they were forced to find a method of programming it. Nielsen Enterprises discovered SURFCAM®, a CAD/CAM system that was just starting out. They immediately became the first SURFCAM® dealer and have now received numerous SURFCAM® awards for their sales, such as the prestigious Dealer of the year award. 28 years later Nielsen Enterprises both uses and sells SURFCAM®, which is now the world's premier CAD/CAM system.
